MPPSC form rejection is more common than you think. Once you hit submit, you cannot edit anything. One wrong entry can disqualify you — even if you clear the exam. Here are the mistakes that actually cause problems.
They upload PNG or PDF instead of JPG. Or the file size is below 20 KB (too small) or above 100 KB (too large). The portal silently rejects it or the image appears distorted on the admit card.
Photo: JPG only, 20-100 KB, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, plain white background. Signature: JPG only, 10-100 KB, 3.5 x 1.5 cm, black or blue ink on white paper. Use an image editor to resize — do not just rename a PNG to JPG.
They enter their name or date of birth from memory. Later, during document verification, it does not match the 10th marksheet — which MPPSC considers the final authority for name and DOB.
Open your 10th marksheet before filling the form. Enter your name and DOB exactly as printed there. Even a spelling difference (like 'Shyam' vs 'Shyaam') can cause problems at verification.
They select SC/ST/OBC but do not have MP domicile. Reservation benefits only apply to MP domicile holders. Non-MP candidates can only apply as General (Unreserved).
If you are not a native of Madhya Pradesh, select Unreserved (UR) category only. If you are MP domicile and claiming reservation, make sure your caste certificate is valid and issued by the MP government.
The form asks whether you are applying for State Service, Forest Service, or Both. Many candidates select the wrong option without understanding the difference.
Read the notification carefully. If you are eligible for both and want to appear for both, select 'Both'. If you only want State Service (Deputy Collector, DSP, etc.), select that specifically. Forest Service has additional eligibility for specific graduation subjects.
Transaction times out, money gets deducted but payment is not confirmed on the MPPSC portal. They assume the form is submitted but it is not.
After payment, always check the application status on the portal. If money was deducted but status shows unpaid, wait 24-48 hours for auto-reconciliation. If still unpaid, contact the helpline (0731-2711017) with your transaction details. Do not pay again without checking first.
They rush through and click submit without reviewing. The MPPSC form CANNOT be edited after final submission. Wrong info stays permanently.
Before clicking the final submit button, review every field — name, DOB, category, educational details, photo, signature. Download the preview and cross-check with your documents. There is no correction window.
They enter wrong percentage, wrong board/university name, or wrong passing year. During document verification, this mismatch can lead to disqualification — even after clearing the exam.
Keep your 10th, 12th, and graduation marksheets open while filling the form. Enter marks, percentage, board name, and year exactly as printed on the marksheet. If your marksheet shows CGPA, select the CGPA option — do not convert to percentage yourself.
They wait until the last day to fill the form. Server crashes, payment gateway slows down, and they miss the deadline. MPPSC does not extend deadlines.
Apply within the first 3-4 days of the application window. The portal is least crowded in the beginning. MPPSC application windows are usually short (15-20 days) — do not wait.
They enter someone else's bank account (parent, friend) or enter wrong IFSC/account number. MPPSC requires the applicant's own bank account.
Enter your own bank account only. Double-check the IFSC code and account number from your passbook. The name on the bank account should match your application name.
They complete the form and payment but do not download the confirmation page. Later, they cannot prove their application or resolve payment disputes.
After successful submission and payment, download and save: (1) Application confirmation page with your Application ID, (2) Payment receipt/transaction details. Keep both digital and printed copies.
They upload a caste or domicile certificate that was issued years ago. Some certificates have validity periods and may not be accepted during verification.
Check the issue date and validity of your caste/domicile certificate. If it is old, get a fresh one issued from your district collector's office before applying. The certificate must be issued by the MP government.
Serving MP government employees apply without informing their department. During verification, the department says they had no knowledge — application gets flagged.
If you are a serving government employee in MP, inform your department in writing before applying. Tick the relevant declaration in the form honestly. Carry the departmental acknowledgment to the interview stage.
