What Is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme that gives ₹6,000 per year to eligible small and marginal farmer families, paid as three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every 4 months. The money is transferred directly to the farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

The 23rd installment is expected to be released between 15 June and 15 July 2026. PM Kisan releases happen approximately every 4 months — the previous three were:

How to Check Your PM Kisan Status Online

You can check your PM Kisan beneficiary status in under a minute from the official portal.

1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in↗
2. On the homepage, click "Know Your Status" (top-right under "Farmers Corner")
3. Enter your Registration Number — or click "Know Your Registration Number" if you don't have it (you can retrieve it using Aadhaar or mobile number)

To check whether your village's list of beneficiaries includes you:

2. Select your State, District, Sub-district, Block and Village

4. The complete list of registered farmers in your village will be displayed
5. Search for your name (Ctrl+F on a computer)

PM Kisan eKYC — Mandatory for All Beneficiaries

eKYC is now mandatory for every PM Kisan farmer. If your eKYC is pending, the 23rd installment will not be credited even if everything else is correct. There are 3 official ways to complete it:

Method 1 — OTP-based eKYC (online, free)

1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in↗ → "eKYC" under Farmers Corner

Method 2 — Biometric eKYC at a CSC

Visit any nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with your Aadhaar card. The operator will scan your fingerprint or iris for biometric verification. A nominal fee of ₹15–₹30 may apply depending on the CSC.

Method 3 — Face Authentication via PM-KISAN app

Useful if your Aadhaar-linked mobile is dead and you don't want to visit a CSC.

1. Install "PM-Kisan GoI" from the Google Play Store
2. Also install the "Aadhaar Face RD" app (required for face capture)

• **Account closed or frozen** by the bank — DBT fails silently
• **Excluded category** — IT taxpayer, government employee (current or retired Group A/B), professional, pensioner above ₹10,000/month, constitutional post holder
